Midwest Sled Dog Symposium and Teacher's Conference


                

On September 28th join us in welcoming our speakers for 2013:  

  • Born to Run author and Photographer Albert Lewis of Reno, NV will share his entertaining stories from his travels around Alaska photographing the superstar dogs of the Iditarod https://www.facebook.com/BornToRunathletesoftheiditarod
  • Race Volunteer Panel...learn how to get involved in both smaller and larger races and hear stories from some long time race volunteers 
  • Before the Race...UP 200 training, preparation and conditioning.  Panel of UP 200 vets and mushers
  • Mushing in the Classroom...a variety of speakers will be presenting ways to get your students, administrators and fellow teachers excited about sled dogs
  • Gear basics...Tim VanderMeulen will work on building dog houses and teach lessons in working with ropes, ganglines, and more

Albert Lewis, photographer of Born to Run, Athletes of the Iditarod 
  • Is offering greatly reduced photo sessions of your dog(s) during this year's symposium!  We will have a "photo studio" set up in the lower level of the Erickson Center.  Albert can photograph one or multiple dogs.
  • The cost for a 15 minute session is $75 and includes one print.  
  • We are asking you contact Tasha at 906-748-0513 or info@natureskennel.com if you would like to sign up for a time slot.

  • Available times are Friday between 4:00-5:45 (just prior to Brent's Ultimate  Alaska presentation) and Saturday from 12:00-1:15 (during the symposium lunch hour).

Risdon Rig Pro Tracker Sled for Raffle

Once again Risdon Rigs is graciously donating a Pro Tracker Sled to help raise funds for the Mid West Sled Dog Symposium. The sled is valued at $1045. 

2011 Winner Shannon Wyckoff of Ohio.

Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20 and will be sold at event.
